Back to recitations Kenneth Welsh graduated from the University of Alberta with a B.A in drama, then spent three years at the National Theatre School of Canada. He spent seven seasons at Stratford, playing among many other roles, the title role in Hamlet. The next twelve years he spent in New York, where he appeared on and off Broadway in such plays as The Real Thing, Social Security, Frankie and Johnnie in the Clare de Lune, Piaf and Whose Life Is It, Anyway? He is the author of the cabaret musical Stand Up Shakespeare. His film credits include The Freshman, Legends of the Fall, Crocodile Dundee II, The House on Carroll Street, Absolute Power, Margaret's Museum, Perfectly Normal, Loyalties and Focus. On television his credits include starring roles in Empire Inc, Love and Hate, And Then You Die, Hiroshima, Edison, External Affairs, Law and Order, The X-Files, and David Lynch's Twin Peaks. He has six Geminis and one Genie, the Canadian equivalent of the Oscars and the Emmys. He has been seen on the television starring as Doctor Watson in Hound of the Baskervilles, and also in the telefilm Sanctuary and Revenge of the Land.
